Early Adolescence period : Age
Group 11 to14 Years.

All parents should understand that your child is
now going to face challenge of changes of PUBERTY very soon. Support
him/her through love and care. Give time to open up communication
channnels for better understanding of each other. |

Girls require special care and understanding during
onset of their puberty; so parents, speciallly mother should inform
daughter about Menarche. |

Children may not ask, but parents should create
an environment for the healthy discussion and impart information
on changes of adolescnece. |
Late Adolescence period : Age Group 14 to18
Years.

Social and Emotional changes will change the behaviour
of adolescents. Adolescents strive to seek acceptance among their
age group. Parents can help them by becoming the best friend to
them. |

The looks will play an effect on their own thinking,
so make them love their body; the way it is. Never criticise about
any part of their body. |

Let the adolescents look at the mirror, till they
satisfy themselves. It will develop healthy relationship with
their own self. Parents should remember their own teenage days. |

TV viewing can not be stopped, so better encourage to see good
programme as well as parents can watch teenage programme to know
their taste. |

A balanced diet is needed to support the growth
during puberty. Parents can cultivate healthy eating habits by
practicing. Also encourage participation in sports and physical
activities, which will enhance the self confidence as well as
develp good physique. |

Exam and study stress to be reduced through adequate
sleep and entertainment. |
Young Adult period : Age Group 19 to 22 Years.

Parents should understand that feelings for opposite
sex will start and cannot be totally ignored. Heterogenous friend-circle
to be encouraged. |

Young adult need little more privacy at house, so
do not always doubt them. If possible, enter in their area with
their permission. |
| 3. |
Parents should know that now they would like to
go out with their friends more often than going out with the parents.
Do not worry, it is a normal behaviour. |

Parents should understand the harmful effects of
tobacco on the body, so if possible quit smoking and chewing of
tobacco. |
| 5. |
Young adult is in search of a personality which
he/she can identify with. parents can become their positive role
models. |
| 6. |
Parents to continue to show love and
affection the way they were doing when in early childhood. Appreciate
their little achivements in any field. Give adequte time to listen
to them. |
